Salus Homecare, a California-based company focused on providing coordinated home-based services including skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and medical social services combined with caregiving services, today announced the completion of the acquisition of home health agency Aspen Home Health and Rehab in Artesia, Calif.

The acquisition strengthens Salus’ position in the home health market in the Orange, Los Angeles and Riverside counties and expands its current team of skilled nurses and doctors to help homebound elderly and disabled patients, according to Salus’ Chief Executive Officer Mark Mortensen.

“The acquisition of Aspen, a certified Medicare provider in home health, strengthens Salus’ offerings in the evolving healthcare landscape where home-based care is becoming increasingly important in the recovery and care of elderly and disabled patients,” Mortensen said.

Salus’ Glenda Wellington will serve as the Director of Patient Care Services alongside with Aspen’s senior management team. Wellington will work with Aspen to ensure a smooth integration of the companies for patients and referrers.

"We are pleased to welcome Aspen and its capable management team and staff to Salus family," Mortensen said. "Both Aspen and Salus share a common commitment to success through quality healthcare services.

Aspen will undergo rebranding under the Salus Home Health banner.

“Salus is filling a very vital need in the market with its ONE CALL™ program,” Director of Patient Care Services Wellington said. “Under the Salus umbrella, with just one phone call, you can enlist the help of an experienced case manager who is accustomed to dealing with a team of home care professionals.”

Financial terms of the transaction were undisclosed. The acquisition was subject to various standard closing conditions and regulatory requirements.
