U.K. Elite soccer training organization announces a six-week fundraising program for breast cancer awareness during the two weeks leading up to Mother's Day in May and the entire month of October.

We wanted to extend our efforts to respond to that impact beyond the traditional month of October where breast cancer awareness is formally recognized. That’s why we will be making donations and fundraising during the two weeks leading up to Mother’s Day.

U.K. Elite Soccer announced the launch of an expanded fundraising program in support of breast cancer awareness that puts an organized, collective effort to raising money for breast cancer awareness and research at all six of its regional office locations throughout the United States. During the two weeks leading up to Mother’s Day (Sunday, April 28 - Sunday, May 12) and the entire month of October, all of U.K. Elite’s regional offices will donate $5 of every registration for any U.K. Elite program to breast cancer research, awareness and support.

“Each regional manager will have the opportunity to designate a local charity, hospital or family affected by or which works tirelessly in support of breast cancer,” said Craig McGinn, U.K. Elite Director. “We are encouraging people involved in our programs to make suggestions of worthy breast cancer causes to their regional offices so that each region can really get excited and motivated about helping someone be it a family, research or support organization, or hospital making a difference in their area.”

U.K. Elite Soccer has always supported local causes for a variety of different initiatives, but 2013 marks the first year that the organization will be going about its fundraising efforts in a national, coordinated manner. “This is the first year we’ve formally chosen one cause for our entire organization to rally around,” said McGinn. “We’ve heard a lot of stories over the past few years of people being impacted by breast cancer. We wanted to extend our efforts to respond to that impact beyond the traditional month of October where breast cancer awareness is formally recognized. That’s why we will be making donations and fundraising during the two weeks leading up to Mother’s Day.”

In addition to the flat $5 that will be donated from every registration received during the two week period in May and during the entire month of October, U.K. Elite Soccer will also be creating an online store where people can buy a pink U.K. Elite replica coaches’ shirt, with 100% of the proceeds from pink shirt sales going to the designated region’s breast cancer fund. “We’ll open the store in May and keep it open through mid-October, raising as much as we can,” said McGinn. U.K. Elite will be asking all of its coaches to participate in local breast cancer awareness events, such as a 5K race, and wear pink shirts at practice and during matches during October.

“We plan to support a charitable cause annually going forward, and welcome suggestions from our clients and coaches as we seek a cause to support in 2014,” said McGinn.
