As part of the process applicants must submit a company profile, business plan and draft presentation. Selected companies will not be charged to apply or present.
David Farquhar, Partner at Northface Ventures, will serve as President of the UK & Ireland Tech Tour and said “I was delighted to accept the role of President of the UK & Ireland Tech Tour at a very exciting time for our industry. The rise of cloud services and massive growth in enterprise class cloud-based applications are bringing more products to market and hence more opportunities to invest. We are also seeing a significant maturing of the medtech, cleantech and renewables sectors, all of which are key strengths of the region. Research and innovation emerging from the region’s Universities has never been stronger around electronics and components on the back of new classes of devices. Tech Tour has the unique capability of bringing together exciting companies with the growth capital they need and offers the most efficient way to align the interests of both groups.”
Brian Caulfield, Partner at DFJ Esprit, will be the VP of the Selection Committee and explained that “Since the TechTour last visited the UK & Ireland 4 years ago, lean startup approaches and more availability of seed capital in the region have led to an explosion of great young companies that are able to gain market traction quickly. We will have a difficult time picking just 25 companies, but look forward to seeing the very best of these companies present to this important audience.”
