“We are seeing an increase in clients that want to put their data in Office 365 and manage it in-place,” Chris McVeen, VP of Operations, Bishop Technologies.

Acaveo, an emerging software vendor in Information Governance, today announced it has joined Microsoft’s Cloud Partner Program. As a Microsoft Cloud Essentials partner, Acaveo has certified its Information Governance platform, Smart Information Server, with SharePoint Online and Exchange Online through Microsoft Platform Ready certifications.

Acaveo’s Smart Information Server will help companies in their effort to migrate data to Office 365 by understanding their information prior to the migration so that they can move only what’s important and archive or delete the rest. As well, the company’s software will help companies with rich insights and targeted Information Governance controls for the data that resides in Office 365. This helps Office 365 customers remain in control of their data that sits in the cloud.

“We often hear concerns about data governance when considering a move to the cloud,” said Geoff Bourgeois, CTO, Acaveo. “It is commonly viewed as a loss of control over data and this is something we can help clients to overcome”. Acaveo’s software helps companies remain in control of their data by giving Information Governance stakeholders powerful analytics and an advanced rules engine that allows for continual awareness and in-place control over their data in the cloud.

In January, Acaveo announced a partnership with Bishop Technologies Inc., a U.S.-based VAR that delivers and supports customized solutions for data migration, information security and pervasive information governance to large enterprises, government agencies and SMBs. One of Bishop Technologies’ areas of expertise is in helping companies migrate their data from large, legacy archives into Office 365.

“We are seeing an increase in clients that want to put their data in Office 365 and manage it in-place,” said Chris McVeen, VP of Operations, Bishop Technologies. “With Smart Information Server, our clients will be able to efficiently identify and manage the data that has value while performing defensible storage housekeeping for all of the rest”.

Acaveo now offers free trial access to its software, which can be run against SharePoint Online and Exchange Online, as well as hybrid scenarios that include on-premise SharePoint, Exchange and/or network file servers.
