The distribution system is made up of 4 electrical substations and more than 170 miles of primary and secondary power lines.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SmartVU, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel, Remote Alarm Annunciation, SCADA Replicator/Archiver, WebSurv, and SurvCentral.
“Survalent is pleased to have the City of Troy’s Electric Department join our growing number of customers in lower Alabama,” states Steve Strauss, Vice President of Sales for the Eastern United States. “This is Troy’s first SCADA system where Survalent provided turnkey database and screen graphic development, as well as, a local consultant/integrator to assist with substation services. This system will allow Troy to view screens created for their SCADA system on smart phones and tablets.”
