The Reason Magazine earns a paragraph in history not only for offering the first digital, interactive, faith-based, entertainment publication, but also for giving it away to users hungry for its Christian focused content and interactive design. “This is a very exciting time for Christian media and The Reason Magazine just turned up the heat with their unrivaled offering of free, widely sought content in a mobile product for Christians to download on their iPad,” Fernando Chavez, FaithLauncher Founder and CEO, commented. “This has the all the markings of a huge success because The Reason is thoroughly serving both the industry’s artistic voices and its audience who will likely warm up to that very quickly,”
FaithLauncher also provides the opportunity for The Reason’s new users to learn more and interact with the ability to financially contribute; receive rewards; become a part of the magazine’s inner circle; and support its success through social networking and other promotional activities. The crowdfunding campaign also serves to build long-term community for the magazine.
GMA Dove Award winners, Tenth Avenue North, are featured in The Reason’s premiere issue available on iTunes/App Store. Film director of Blue Like Jazz, Steve Taylor, is also interviewed. When Keith Hilgenfeldt, Sandi Kirkland, and Ryan Boone founded The Reason Magazine, they had once collaborated on a music blog together and always wanted to produce a magazine that covered the effect that creativity has on our world through arts and music. They also wanted a company that could sustain the basic needs of people in their own communities. Within their own journey to the release of the first issue of The Reason Magazine (launched on March 6, 2013), full time jobs were lost and part time jobs were picked up to keep it going. The projected goal on the crowdfunding website is $10,000 (http://www.faithlauncher.com/projects/108-the-reason-magazine). The founding trio has also declared hummus as the new peanut butter and jelly and is looking forward to achieving more nearly “impossible” feats for their Christian viewers.
Immediate future plans include the development of more download options including one for the Android. The Reason’s team gladly accepts donations of time, money, and prayers. “We hope that the fulfillment of God's vision in our lives can be an inspiration for you to tap into your own creativity.” – Keith, Sandi, and Ryan, Founders, The Reason Magazine.
