The great British weather has not blessed the capital in early 2013 but London based Events team Ex Events are already thinking ahead with what is sure to be a highlight of this year’s summer party scene: The GPS Challenge.
The GPS Challenge is a state of the art GPS led treasure hunt that replaces the traditional, well known, paper based team building event.
Armed with Samsung Galaxy tablets, teams of between 5 and 8 people take to the city streets in search of live hotspots displayed as icons on their interactive maps. Only when they reach the exact location of the hotspot will the tablet vibrate and let them know that a question or team challenge has been activated. Each team challenge is themed to add to the entertainment. A favourite in 2012 was the Olympic themed ‘Gold’, and new for 2013, ‘Monopolised’ will see London centric questions based upon the popular board game.
Mel Atkins, Managing Director of Ex Events says:
“The technology is continually developing and really sets the game apart. It’s competitive, exciting and creates an innovative team build that is the perfect accompaniment to any summer party. We envisage a huge uptake in participation over the coming months.”
Lasting 2 to 3 hours and with a Live Leader Board that keeps everyone competitive to the very end, The GPS Challenge can be played with groups ranging from 12 to 1000 competitors, and its technology enables the treasure hunt to be based in almost any city.
Post the Olympic summer, expectations are that 2013 will see an upturn in London’s corporate summer party market. In anticipation Ex Events have launched their new Summer Portfolio, offering the corporate market a wide ranging summer party selection.
Historic venues, private gardens and luxurious terraces cater for all requirements. From drinks receptions at The City Sky Bar to lavish dinners at Spencer House or family fun days in the grounds of Regents College, the choice of venues covers all occasions.
