SharePoint® has the capability of delivering a comparable personalized user experience for groups, as it does for individuals.

Rehmani Consulting, Inc. of Plainfield, Illinois announces an expansion in the feature set of its help system for Microsoft® SharePoint®, VisualSP™. In response to user requests, organizations implementing this award winning system (VisualSP™ won the Editor’s Best Bronze Award, SharePoint, from Windows IT Pro Magazine for 2012) now can display different sets of content to different groups of users on a site collection basis.
Two additional features, an administrator control which is used to trim access to exposed content for specific users based on their membership in security groups, and an option to display ribbon features for the SharePoint® help system in different languages (the language must be supported by a Microsoft® Language Pack, and already added to SharePoint®), support this new flexibility, promising a high valuable benefit for users.
Asif Rehmani, President of Rehmani Consulting, Inc. notes “SharePoint® has the capability of delivering a comparable personalized user experience for groups, as it does for individuals. There is no reason why this capability cannot be extended to include where and why training artifacts, departmental-specific content, and more are displayed to specific groups of users. With the new features we’ve added to VisualSP™ we help our customers from large and diverse organizations make SharePoint® computing into a rich, and appropriately complex experience.”
With many organizations now grappling with the need to hasten user adoption for SharePoint®, the flexibility of the VisualSP™ help system, which can now be used, successfully, to provide diverse business units within the same organization with the same reliable method of supporting dissimilar procedures is sure to be a popular option for information architects, change management consultants, and other professionals helping end users achieve their adoption objectives. Asif Rehmani explains: “subject matter experts specializing in information architecture often work with organizations in need of a means of convincing users to shed one method of computing for another. A system like VisualSP™, which provides business groups with access to highly relevant content specific to their role within an organization on an on-demand, task-specific basis is designed to make their work easier, with a greater likelihood of a successful outcome for their clients”.
