Mashable Brings On Mike Kriak As Chief Financial Officer

Mashable announced today that Michael Kriak will become the company’s Chief Financial Officer.

“Mike brings a deep and diverse financial experience in media, advertising and international operations which will be key to the next phase of Mashable’s growth,” said Pete Cashmore, CEO and Founder, Mashable.

Mr. Kriak, who was previously Chief Financial Officer for Haymarket Media Inc., will report to Chief Executive Officer and Founder Pete Cashmore. He will join the company’s leadership team, which directs the company’s strategy, planning and operations. Kriak will begin at Mashable on April 1.

Kriak worked for Haymarket Media for the past ten years. He served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary. He was instrumental in growing the company’s reach by launching multiple new brands and acquiring numerous titles during his tenure. He joined Haymarket Media Inc. in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. Before that, he was head of finance at RxCentric, where he helped raise capital and lead the company to acquisition. Kriak began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP in the technology audit practice in Boston and Pittsburgh.

He is a certified public account and a member of the New York State Society of CPAs . He studied at the London School of Economics and received his B.S. degree from Saint Vincent College.
