EJL Wireless Research recently attended Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Spain at the new Fira Gran Via. The company is presenting a free summary of the conversations and interviews with wireless base station antenna suppliers who were attending and exhibiting at the show.
“The majority of the passive antenna vendors were unveiling penta-band and hexa-band solutions to address the proliferation of LTE frequency bands worldwide. We believe that every major base station antenna supplier has introduced penta-band solutions with some already introducing hexa-band solutions,” says Lum.
“In the semi-active antenna category, Ericsson introduced its new AIR32 product, the second generation AIR, following on the success of the AIR21. For active antennas, Huawei stole the spotlight having its dual band active and triple band passive antenna displayed inside Vodafone's booth, however Ubidyne was able to share some positive news on partnerships with Dengyo, NEC and NTT DoCoMo in Japan,” says Lum.
