The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy surveyed a selection of its former students from the last ten years. There was two aspects that were highlighted by the practitioners as highly significant. The first particularly by ex students that had been practising for a number of years, was the need to have self belief. The second, was that they felt that their hypnotherapy education would not have been complete without the marketing knowledge they received on the course.
Out of the students surveyed, 60% believed that at the end of the hypnotherapy training they felt more confident, more able to deal with confrontation, had an improved self-image and generally felt more relaxed about life. So their self belief was dealt with during the course.
Over 70% of the students that were in full-time practice, said that the optional hypnotherapy marketing module, provided by the Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy, was crucial in creating a busy, profitable practice.
One former student said “I had a background in marketing. However, promoting yourself as a hypnotherapist is a very different ball game to corporate type marketing. For one thing, you just don’t have the budget. The marketing module showed me how to promote my practice on a shoe string. The innovative ideas have kept me in a steady stream of clients. All you have to do is to remember to actually put them into practice.”

Hypnotherapy is by definition a practical business. The marketing module is specifically designed to ensure that their students get a steady stream of clients because, no matter how good the therapist is, if they don’t see any clients they won’t stay in practice very long.
