This culture of ‘second screening’ is becoming increasingly common

A BBC World News Survey of 3,600 digital device owners has revealed that 83% of tablet owners use their device whilst watching TV.
The survey found that people respond to advertising across all screens and one in seven users indicated they responded to a mobile advertisement in the past four weeks, while responses to TV and desktops were 1 in 5 and 1 in 4 respectively.
The research also found that tablet owners also watch more TV news not less and that 43% of tablet owners consume more TV than they did five years ago.
