Medigap Advisors is now offering Harvard Pilgrim Medicare Supplement insurance in Massachusetts. These Core Plans and Medicare Supplement 1 Plans can help Medicare beneficiaries reduce what they pay for gaps in Medicare’s Part A and B benefits. MediGap Advisors president Wiley Long said, “We’re excited about expanding our national network of Medigap plan providers to include Harvard Pilgrim. At MediGap Advisors, we have been careful to only represent leading insurance companies that receive a high financial-stability ranking based on independent rating organizations like A.M. Best.”
The Core Plan does not cover the Part A deductible, but it does pay for Part A hospitalization co-payments. After the deductible has been met, Medicare Part A pays for 60 days of hospital care. For the next 30 days, Medicare beneficiaries have a daily charge of $296. For days 91 through 150, the beneficiaries’ share of the cost increases to $592 per day. The Core Plan covers these co-payments.
It also helps when beneficiaries are required to pay for 20 percent of the cost of doctor services, and it covers up to 60 days of inpatient care per year at a mental health hospital.
The Medicare Supplement 1 Plan includes all of that coverage. It also pays for the Part A deductible, which is $1,184 per a benefit period in 2013, and the annual Part B deductible of $147.
In addition, it covers skilled nursing facility co-insurance charges and adds emergency medical coverage when beneficiaries travel outside of the United States. It also doubles coverage for inpatient care in a mental health hospital.
MediGap Advisors also provides confidential consultations to assist Medicare beneficiaries in comparing available Medicare plan options. Personal consultations may be scheduled by calling 1-866-323-1441. Beneficiaries and their relatives may also join the MediGap Advisors live telephone seminar and call in with questions. Complementary registration is available at http://www.MedigapAdvisors.com/teleseminar.htm.
