Bon Secours St. Francis announces Sharon Y. Johnson as its new Media and Community Coordinator. Sharon is a well-known, respected, and recognizable face in the Upstate. She is a Community and Public Relations Professional, Communications Professor, and a former TV News Anchor. You may remember seeing Sharon anchoring the news on WYFF, News 4 or reporting throughout the region over the past 15 years in North and South Carolina TV Markets.
Sharon is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and earned her Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University. Mrs. Johnson is an award-nominated journalist with several recognitions in her field and in the community. Sharon serves on the Simpsonville Planning Commission as Co-Chair, the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce Foundation Vice-Chairperson and Beyond Differences Youth Group Board Member. She is actively involved and volunteers at Mt. Zion Christian School as the Moms in Prayer Leader and with communications efforts of the Greenville graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Sharon is from a small town near Raleigh, North Carolina and has worked as a journalist throughout both North and South Carolina. But now, she and her family call Simpsonville, South Carolina home. Sharon is married to Douglas Cureton and they have two small children, Faron and Ramsey. Sharon says the most important part of her life is her faith and her family. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, reading, teaching her children, and taking vacations with her family.
