Seneca®, a leading designer and manufacturer of cutting edge High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster solutions, today announced the availability of the A24 Series HPC compute node, designed to scale to the evolving needs of small departmental research clusters as well as high density national laboratories. The A24 Series HPC Cluster offers unparalleled flexibility and density in a 2u form factor including:
The A24 platform is the first HPC product from Seneca to offer the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor which gives scientists extra processing power in a PCI-card form factor, for massively parallel HPC jobs. These cards, based on the Intel Many Integrated Core (MIC) Architecture, boast over 1,000 Double Precision GFLOPs from over 50 Xeon cores, running at over 1.0 GHz.
“Accelerated computing is the future of HPC,” said Mike Smith VP Engineering & Technology, for Seneca. “As one of the first companies to deploy a cluster incorporating both Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors and NVIDIA Tesla GPUs Seneca has seen firsthand and can attest to the power of accelerator technology. We are excited to work with our HPC customers and ecosystem to bring this technology to its fullest potential.”
