New York, NY (PRWEB) March 28, 2013
After three years, John Mayer is back. He has just announced his “Born and Raised” tour this summer which will take him through the United States and Canada, and to South America. The concert tour will start on July 6 at Milwaukee, WI at the Summerfest, Marcus Amphitheater, and will culminate on October 5 at the Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl. In between, he will be criss-crossing the country with shows at Missouri, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, Colorado, Washington, California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, and Arizona. He will also have a show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on August 14. He goes to South America for a show in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 17; and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 21.
Mayer made his official return to performing on stage at Bozeman, Montana for a benefit show for firefighters. He sang "If I Ever Get Around to Living" from his latest album Born and Raised. Along with many others on stage, he also jammed with the Zac Brown Band on their song “Up on Cripple Creek.” He will be making some stops before embarking on his multi-leg tour. His show at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in Alabama on April 25 is already sold out. He will then be at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest on April 26.
The multi-awarded singer and songwriter was off the concert tour due to throat surgery. He first had surgery on October 2011 to treat the granuloma in his throat. He had another surgery in August 2012. After both surgeries, he had to rest his vocal chords and was not able to sing. However, he played the guitar on several concerts including that of the Rolling Stones in New Jersey in December 2012.
His latest album was supposed to have been released in October 2011. His surgery however derailed the planned release. Born and Raised was finally released in May 2012. “Shadow Days”, the first single from the album, was released in February 2012. He released the second single, “Queen of California” on August 13, 2012. The album reached the top of the Billboard chart and stayed there for two weeks. It also reached the top spot on album charts in Canada and the United Kingdom. It also got good reviews and placed number 17 on the Rolling Stones list of the top 50 albums of 2012.
