“Pacino One Night Only” will explore the myriad highlights of one of the most celebrated careers in acting history, from his time off-Broadway in the ‘60s right up to the present day, with the actor himself, in an intimate theater setting. The evening will include an on-stage interview projected on a state- of-the-art large screen, bringing the action closer to the audience. This very special event will also give audience members a rare chance to speak directly to Pacino in an audience question and answer session.
Pacino is one of very few actors to have won the Triple Crown in acting - Oscar, Emmy and Tony Awards. He received his first Tony in 1969 for Does A Tiger Wear A Necktie before winning worldwide acclaim for his role as Michael Corleone in The Godfather which also gave him his first of eight Academy Award nominations. An enduring and critically acclaimed acting career followed with standout performances in Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, Scarface, Sea of Love, Glengarry Glen Ross, Heat, Donnie Brasco, and Scent of a Woman for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1992. He has also directed and produced several films including Looking For Richard and Chinese Coffee. Al Pacino recently directed the films Salome and Wilde Salome in which he stars as King Herod, with Jessica Chastain as Salome. Wilde Salome received its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.
Television work includes a rich relationship with HBO, first, as Roy Cohn in the 2003 miniseries Angels in America and as Dr. Jack Kevorkian in You Don't Know Jack in 2010 - both of which garnered him Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. He most recently starred as the record producer Phil Spector in David Mamet’s film, Phil Spector.
He has been awarded the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement in Motion Pictures, the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award and in 2011 the National Merit of Arts by President Obama.
With an enduring devotion to acting, Pacino has become one of film and theater’s most respected players and one of the most famous and loved actors in the world. “Pacino One Night Only” is, undoubtedly, an exceptional occasion to catch an icon in the flesh.
