Almost half of the enterprises that allow BYOD have experienced security breach.

In the view of the recent cyber attacks and scandalous private data leaks, My Choice Software has partnered with software developer Novell, Inc. to bring the latest Novell ZENworks Endpoint Security Management Suit to its customers.

ZENworks Endpoint Security Management software was designed to provide data protection on mobile devices, as well as removable storage devices. It offers such features as data encryption, elaborate firewall and multi-level control over removable storage devices, including read-only access enforcement and endpoint Wi-Fi security control.

“Data protection doesn’t end with your PC anymore, and the abundance of mobile and storage devices makes it increasingly difficult to track and document every point of data entry, which is why such software as ZENworks Endpoint Security Management can be extremely useful,” shared Daniel Parker, manager at My Choice Software.

He added that a great deal of security software is on the expensive end, and My Choice Software is striving to provide affordable software solutions to help businesses of all sizes keep their sensitive data protected.

As reported by Reuters, the study by Cisco Systems, Inc. has found that the number of mobile devices connected to the internet will exceed the population of Earth by 2016. The amount of data exchanged though mobile devices, among other things, is expected to put a strain on wireless networks.

Mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, are widely used for personal purposes, but frequently double as workplace essentials, allowing users to make job-related calls, access work emails and even remotely connect to office computers.

According to the research by Gartner, Inc., more than 50 percent of employees participate in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) practice globally, and close to 90 percent of companies are planning to offer BYOD by 2014.

Gartner, Inc. identifies several challenges associated with BYOD policy and the ability of employees to access and store internal company data on their personal devices. These challenges include the risk of data leaks, lost and stolen devices, as well as device failure.

“It is essential to have the right policy and security software in place before encouraging BYOD practice among your employees, and with the latter My Choice Software is happy to help,” shared Parker.

He added that although discount Adobe software is currently the company’s best seller, ZENworks Endpoint Security Management is expected to perform equally well, as more and more companies are realizing the risks of unmanaged BYOD practices.

According to the 2012 survey by Trend Micro, almost half of the enterprises that allow BYOD have experienced security breach “as a result of employee-owned device accessing the corporate network.” Network security remains one of the most serious issues stemming from the BYOD practice.
