Collapsible Dish Rack / Cutting Board: The Cubodira goes "viral"
Wellesley, Massachusetts, USA (PRWEB) April 02, 2013
A collapsible dish drying rack / cutting board: the Cubodira, was a big success at the International Housewares Show in Chicago, Illinois. The JonJas Company introduced the Cubodira to the public at the show and it was very well received. The Cubodira collapses for easy storage to free up counter space. It eliminates the ugly appearance of a dish rack sitting on a counter top though out the day. When closed, it doubles as a large cutting board.
Several companies expressed interest in licensing the technology. Buyers came from the US, Germany, Switzerland, England, China, Mexico and Canada. The Cubodira was reviewed by QVC sprouts. Several QVC buyers wanted to present it. It will be appearing in Sky Mall later in the year. News releases from the show, blogs, and twitter have created a “viral response” and dramatic increase in website traffic, purchases and inquires. The JonJas website has increased traffic by 10 times.
The Cubodira was invented to free counter space and eliminate the need to keep an ugly dish rack on a counter top. It is stored on its side taking up 1 ½ “ x 16 ½ " of space. It is ideal for small apartments, boats, RVs, campers, singles, couples and families. It is easy to open by simply sliding a latch, opening the top and sliding the trombone arm forward. The Cubodira has nine dish holders, room for pots, pans, glasses and cups, and a unique silverware holder. The silverware holder consists of an upper rim and a lower basket.
The Cubodira comes in white and is 14 ½ “ x 16 ½ “ x 1 ½ “. It is constructed of high density polyethylene and high grade 301 stainless steel. High density polyethylene is the material plastic cutting boards are made out of. The dish drying rack base has an outer rim that contains water so it drains water into a sink. An indentation on the bottom allows the base to be placed over a sink edge. The base is on rubber feet for stability and it slants to promote water drainage. While the base slants for drainage, the cutting board is made to be level. The Cubodira is dish washer safe.
When the Cubodira closes and is latched, it becomes a cutting board. The cutting board feature is ideal for parties and family events when multiple cutting boards are desired. The cutting board covers and surrounds the dish rack feature to prevent anything from getting inside. A channel around the boarder of the cutting board contains materials to the top surface. The JonJas Company considers the cutting board to be a nice secondary function but finds most customers are buying the Cubodira for its collapsible dish drying rack feature. It is not often people are shopping for a dish drying rack and cutting board at the same time.
In the near future, The JonJas Company hopes to introduce a thin decorative cutting board feature which will adhere to the Cubodira surface. It will provide several decorative choices and be interchangeable for future replacement if necessary.
The Cubodira is presently for sale at the JonJas website with a projected delivery of May 1, 2013. The Cubodira will sell for $49.95 with a $5.00 charge for shipping and handling. Orders taken before May 1st will be discounted by $10.00.
