Envirotest Systems Holdings Corp. (Envirotest) announced today that the State of Tennessee, after completing its evaluation of a competitive bidding process, has awarded a contract to Envirotest to operate their centralized vehicle emissions testing program in Hamilton, Rutherford, Summer, Williamson and Wilson Counties. Envirotest currently operates 9 testing facilities in the existing emissions testing program in this five county area. The current testing facility network will expand to include a tenth location to be built in Brentwood for improved convenience.
The new contract is effective for the period beginning April 1, 2013, and ending on June 30, 2019. The State can also extend the contract for additional one-year periods for a total contract term of up to 11 years, 3 months through June 30, 2024.
