Platinum Stairlifts’ first foray into the straight stairlift market is already paying dividends, as the British stairlift manufacturer celebrates exports to Europe. The Platinum Horizon Straight stairlift, which has only been available to buy since April 2013, is making its mark globally. The brand new stairlift will officially launch at Naidex 2013 National at the NEC in Birmingham, which runs between 30 April and 2 May.

Platinum’s strategy to break into the straight stairlift market has enabled the company to widen its product offer, and increase its customer base. The move has incentivised the company’s International dealer network across Europe, Asia, America and Australia, who are reaping the rewards of new sales.

David Forsyth, Managing Director of Platinum Stairlifts commented: “We are very proud to announce that our first orders for the Platinum Horizon Straight Stairlift came from our main Italian distributor. This has well and truly positioned our new straight lift in the European market place, and congratulations go to the sales team in Italy.”

Platinum Stairlifts recognises the importance of locally sourced business. Not only is this an approach taken by the head office in West Yorkshire, where the company’s products are meticulously designed, manufactured and tested, but in the International sales market place as well.

Forsyth explains: “Our distribution policy is structured around giving customers what they want. We know that our consumers prefer, wherever possible, to buy from local people and local companies – people who know their area, speak their language and understand their culture. We have taken the time to establish a network of independent dealers, who operate in different regions across the world. We do not compete directly with our dealer network, and as a consequence the relationships we build are extremely strong, and make for excellent working practice.”

Platinum’s new Horizon Straight, is one of the most advanced straight stairlifts on the market. Its unique slim-fit design incorporates a range of innovative features. Consumers can either purchase the stairlift as a complete package, which includes a revolutionary Ergo chair, manual lever linked footrest raiser and a powered swivel, or choose to purchase a standard option with a series of added extras.

“This level of flexibility means that The Platinum Horizon Straight is a very adaptable product and one that can be easily tailored to consumers’ requirements. It also allows our Dealer Network more scope in determining their sales strategies,” comments Forsyth.

The Platinum Horizon Straight will officially launch at the Naidex National trade show, at the NEC in Birmingham, which runs between Tuesday 30 April and Thursday 2 May 2013. Naidex National is the UK's largest trade show for disability and homecare products and services. The event attracts hundreds of exhibitors from healthcare professionals to retailers, buyers and dealers, as well members of the public interested in innovative independent living aids.
