It's Time to Nominate the Pet Mayor Candidates for the 2013 Pet Mayor of Piedmont Contest Hosted by Holistic Veterinary Care

The Pet & Wildlife Fund announces an event that will be one of Piedmont Avenue’s first summer events and invites the community to get involved. The Pet Mayor of Piedmont Contest benefits the Pet and Wildlife Fund, which supports injured pets and wildlife throughout the Oakland community.

The Pet Mayor Contest is a great way to connect with pet owners and pet friendly businesses in our community, said Gary Richter, DVM and Medical Director at the Holistic Veterinary Care. We are thrilled to be hosting this event again this year.

The Pet & Wildlife Fund is pleased to announce its 10th year hosting the Pet Mayor Contest. The event will be part of Piedmont Avenue’s summer events and we invite the community to get involved. The Pet Mayor of Piedmont Contest benefits the Pet and Wildlife Fund, which supports injured pets and wildlife throughout the Oakland community.

Since 2004, Pet mayor candidates and their owners have raised more than $50,000 for The Pet & Wildlife Fund. The Pet and Wildlife Fund is excited to include the Piedmont businesses and community members to help with fundraising and to attend special events.

The nomination period is May 1 to May 31. Anyone wanting to nominate their pet should go to http://www.PetandWildlifeFund.org and complete an online nomination form. To become a sponsor, businesses should contact Lee Richter at 510-339-2600 or email lee(at)petandwildlifefund(dot)org.

During special events, Dr. Gary Richter, Medical Director of the Montclair Veterinary Hospital and Holistic Veterinary Care, will be available to offer free pet care advice.

This year’s Pet Mayor will be announced at a special ceremony complete with photo opportunities on July 21st at Holistic Veterinary Care, 4382 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, at 1:00pm.
