Ryan is a valuable asset to our firm and our clients. He has a knack for effectively analyzing complex legal issues, relating on a very personal, human level with our clients and advocating a client's case before a judge and jury.
HOUSTON, Texas (PRWEB) April 16, 2013
J. Ryan Fowler, lead attorney for Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher & Perry Law Firm’s Houston office, has been recognized by Law & Politics Magazine and Texas Monthly Magazine for the 2013 Texas Rising Stars list.
Fowler is listed among the Texas Rising Stars in the Personal Injury Plaintiff: General, Personal Injury Plaintiff: Products categories. In addition to supporting the firm and his clients, Fowler has been interviewed on personal injury topics for major news outlets such as KUHF 88.7 FM Houston Public Radio and News 92 FM and participates in community outreach activities locally, regionally and nationally.
Rising Stars recognizes the state’s top up-and-coming lawyers who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been in practice for 10 years or less. The survey from which Rising Stars are selected is based on nominations, personal observation and attorney-led research. This critical research process is so exclusive that no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are named to the Texas Rising Stars list. (See http://www.superlawyers.com)
“Ryan is a valuable asset to our firm and our clients. He has a knack for effectively analyzing complex legal issues, relating on a very personal, human level with our clients and advocating a client's case before a judge and jury," commented John D. Sloan, Jr., founding partner with The Sloan Firm.
Fowler, a native of Plano, Texas and a resident of The Woodlands, Texas, was also recognized among the Rising Stars in 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, cum laude, from the University of Texas in 2004 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Baylor University’s School of Law in 2007.
Fowler relocated to the Houston area in 2011 to develop the Sloan Firm’s Houston presence. He has obtained significant case results, which include a $2.3 million verdict for a family injured in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. Currently, Fowler serves as a member of Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, East Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Trial Lawyers, Association Houston Young Lawyers Association, College of the State Bar of Texas and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Fowler has also achieved certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law and is one of the youngest (if not the youngest) lawyers in Texas to be board-certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. Less than 2 percent of Texas lawyers achieve this status. The board certification process is rigorous, with stringent requirements after achieving initial certification.
Applicants for board certification must have tried, as lead counsel, at least 10 contested civil cases which were submitted to the trier of fact in a court of record in Texas. Five of the required 10 contested cases must have been personal injury trials. From the cases submitted, applicants must have devoted a minimum of 20 separated days in trial, of which 10 days must have been devoted to personal injury jury trials.
