Luxury interior design blog earns top honor at the Design Bloggers Conference in Los Angeles

Hadley Court, a luxury interior interior design blog penned by Leslie Hendrix Wood of Midland, TX took home the top honor for *Best New Design Blog 2013* at the premier event for Interior Design bloggers in the USA, the Design Bloggers Conference, http://design-bloggers-conference.com.

The Hadley Court blog takes its name from the summer home of Ms. Hendrix Wood, a peaceful hacienda style summer home with a central courtyard set on 60,000 acres in Arkansas. It was there that her mother, her style icon, taught her to appreciate not only the finer things in life, but also *life's simple pleasures* - a deep respect for nature and things that don't cost a lot of money, but bring happiness and joy to the spirit.

Hendrix Wood was chosen from among five other finalists for the prestigious honor. "I started the Hadley Court blog as a way to share with my interior design clients in Midland, TX what I like, see and think about so they would have a way to know me better," she says. "I also plan to manufacture a line of branded Hadley Court products when my daughter graduates from high school and knew a blog would be a good way to begin to familiarize readers with my values and my style." She adds, "I was extremely honored and surprised to receive the original nomination for *Best New Design Blog 2013* and even more stunned to win it."

Hendrix Wood received the accolade in person during the recent, annual Design Bloggers Conference in Los Angeles, held March 3-5, at the Hilton Universal hotel.

Adam Japko, host of the Design Bloggers Conference says, "The Hall of Fame selection committee originally chose Leslie Wood's interior design blog to be in the Top 5 nominations for *Best New Design Blog 2013* award because of a combined expertise in design and the finer things in life and an authenticity that shines through in all of Leslie's content."

"Her ability to couch design and lifestyle sensibility in the context of style, people, and stories impressed the judges," adds Japko. "As the Hall of Fame rules call for, final winners are determined 50 percent by the votes of the general public, and 50 percent by our selection committee. Leslie's blog won and we were thrilled to bring her blog, Hadley Court, international attention and social media recognition and award her a beautiful crystal sculpture for winning *Best New Design Blog 2013* at our recent Design Bloggers Conference in Los Angeles."

The other four interior design blogs nominated for *Best New Design Blog 2013* were: "Kitchen Ink" by Rebecca Reynolds; "A Designer's Perspective" by Donna Vining, ASID; *Relevant Design* by CJ Dellatore; and *Social Light* by Boyd Lighting.

The Design Bloggers Conference, entering its fourth year, brings together the world's top interior design bloggers, major home furnishings and interior design brands and well known media outlets, such as Traditional Home, House Beautiful, HGTV, etc. with top speakers in the fields of interior design, blogging and social media for two days of learning, networking and luxurious parties.

This year's speakers included Newell Turner, Windsor Smith, Charlotte Moss, Barbara Barry, Susanna Salk, Laurie March, Jason Harris, Leslie Carothers and many others.

The 2014 Design Bloggers Conference will be held in Atlanta, GA at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead , March 2-4.
