It has been reported in HVP that British Gas has joined forces with Accenture and Global Action Plan to provide 1,400 17-25 years old free training in sustainability as well as a guaranteed interview. The scheme, which is being supported by Job Centre Plus, will see successful applicants offered a job specifically created to help UK households become more energy efficient.
Clare Williams, Managing Director of British Gas New Energy explains that “Growth, unemployment and sustainability are big challenges for the country.”
Best known for their Stoke Newington plumbers, We Fix Now also specialises in providing Gas Safe Registered engineers throughout the capital. Naturally the recent news was of great interest to the team. A representative shares their thoughts on the matter.
“It’s great to see that British Gas is providing 1,000 new jobs in the industry. There has been criticism over how the education system does not provide enough opportunities for those looking to get involved in the plumbing and heating industry so it’s great to see a response to this. Particularly at the moment there is a high demand for plumbers and gas engineers due to the unexpectedly cold spring we are experiencing.”
“Those looking for quick response plumbers and engineers can call We Fix Now on 0203 432 0481.”
