Cromwell, CT (PRWEB) April 01, 2013
HazCommpliance, LLC, of Enfield CT has announced they will begin holding safety workshops to assist employers and those responsible for safety in maintaining compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administrations (OSHA) Regulations (http://www.osha.gov). The first workshops will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Courtyard Marriott in Cromwell, CT.
The morning session will be focused on Injury and Illness Prevention through conducting Job Hazard Analyses, or JHA’s. Exercises in JHA development will be conducted as these are important tools in workplace safety. An important addition to the morning session is guest speaker Mr. Paul Mangiafico out of the OSHA Hartford Office. Mr. Mangiafico, a Compliance Assistance Specialist, will kick off the workshop series by discussing OSHA inspections and frequently cited regulations, as well as roles and responsibilities of both employers and employees.
The afternoon session will be an in-depth review of the changes of the Hazard Communication Standard that align it with the Globally Harmonized System, or GHS (http://www.osha.gov/dsg/hazcom/hazcom-faq.html#1). Reclassification, key words and phrases, and the new labeling system will be discussed. Additionally, the differences between the current material safety data sheets (MSDS) and the new safety data sheets (SDS) will be explored.
Both sessions are “must attends” for anyone involved in safety in their organizations, though registrants also have the option of attending either the morning session or the afternoon session. The workshops will be informative, interactive, and filled with useful tools and resources. Space will be limited to 30 participants.
