“We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate on these projects. To win these awards is definitely icing on the cake. Our team is committed to developing modern modular building solutions that highlight the offsite construction process while being indistinguishable from site built projects,” said Michael G. The Modular Building Institute, the primary association representing the modular building industry worldwide announced the winners of the prestigious Awards of Distinction during their 30th Annual World of Modular Convention. These awards distinguish the previous year’s premier commercial modular building projects based on architectural excellence, technical innovation, efficiency, and construction time.

Healthcare Building - Washington Prep Clinic, Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Los Angeles, CA - SCI was approached following the design development phase to provide modular design assistance and to prepare the construction documents for a 2,880 sf community medical and dental care clinic. The project consists of 6 exam rooms, 4 private offices, a two station dental clinic, a meeting room, a benefits office, a dispensary, a laboratory and preparation room, a lobby/waiting room, and restroom facilities. The project was completed in 106 days.

Green Building - AV Solar Ranch One Maintenance & Operations, Lancaster, CA - SCI was selected to provide a design-build modular building solution and was responsible for all project phases from conceptual design through construction. The design consisted of a mixture of traditional raised floor modules joined with slab-on-grade modules to develop an inventive modular building concept. This concept combined with thoughtful finish selection allowed SCI to deliver a truly striking project. The 4,057 square foot structure houses 6 private offices, a conference room, a lobby, a lounge, a control station, a warehouse and restrooms. From the project's onset sustainability was identified as a primary focus. To that end the modular building was designed to achieve a LEED Gold rating and utilizing a photovoltaic array for all building energy uses, resulted in a net zero energy building.
