Jack Young is a senior executive with extensive corporate CMMS sector experience in the global maintenance and facility management software industry. Jack began his software career with MRO Software (then known as PSDI) and their Maximo product in 1985. Jack has the distinction of being one of the original six-person team that built and released the original Maximo product in 1985. Jack’s role at that time was Product Management and Product Design. From 1992 until the IBM acquisition of MRO Software in 2006, Jack was the Executive Vice President of Products and Technology for MRO Software. In this role Jack managed Maximo Engineering, Research, Product Management and Product Marketing. During Jack’s tenure, Maximo became the worldwide EAM market leader and was positioned in the Leader’s Quadrant of the Gartner EAM Magic Quadrant for 15 consecutive years, a period covering both the MRO and IBM ownership. In the late 1990s Jack’s MRO team began the development and delivery of the IT Asset Management and IT Service Management products utilizing the latest generation of Maximo technology.
From 2006 to 2010 Jack was the IBM Vice President of Asset Management Development within the IBM Software Group. Key activities during this period included guiding successful integration of the MRO Software acquisition into IBM, delivering product advancements and driving revenue and profit growth.
Prior to working for MRO Software, Jack held numerous plant and facilities engineering positions with Armstrong World Industries.
Jack currently serves on the Board of Directors of RazorThreat Inc., a privately held security software company. From 2003 to 2010 Jack served on the Board of Directors of a major publically traded disaster recovery software company. Jack has Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College and a M.B.A. from Shippensburg University.
