Beer Can Baseball® Launches on Opening Day of Major League Baseball

The owners of Pastime Sports, Ltd. are launching the new interactive Beer Can Baseball® game in conjunction with the start of the Major League Baseball Season.

After the completion of in-depth product testing, the owners of Pastime Sports, Ltd. have announced the launch of the new Beer Can Baseball® game. Played from the home or a social setting while watching live baseball games on television, Beer Can Baseball adds a new, interactive element to the passive sport of watching broadcasts of professional baseball games.

The “game in a can” comes complete with everything players need to enjoy the interaction of a live baseball game while playing the odds on if the batter or hitter will be victorious each inning. The new “Second Season Edition” of Beer Can Baseball is available now for pre-ordering at $20 per game (which includes shipping) through a Kickstarter.com program launched today at http://www.beercanbaseball.com/kickstarter. All games are scheduled for shipment by the All-Star break in July of 2013.

“We’ve chosen to launch Beer Can Baseball on Kickstarter.com to involve the widest range of fans in our start-up,” says Tom Miller, one of the co-inventors of the game. “Kickstarter.com will help us spread the word and allow fans of the game to back our product launch with pre-orders for the games and merchandise.

“The original Beer Can Baseball prototype was introduced earlier as a product test. That limited edition Inaugural Season version is still available for a limited time on Kickerstarter.com. Both games are simple, fun and enhance the overall professional baseball game experience.”

Miller explains that the games can be played in the home or at social settings such as pubs and restaurants, college dormitories and parties --- anywhere that live baseball games are being broadcast.

“Beer Can Baseball is not a drinking game,” says Miller. “The name of the game originated when co-founder Craig Fogel and I were sitting around at home watching a low-scoring baseball game several years ago while enjoying a few beers. We were trying to figure out a way to make the game more fun for us and started predicting what the hitters and pitchers would do. From that was born the original version of Beer Can Baseball!”

Test marketed in Cooperstown, N.Y., the home of baseball, Beer Can Baseball comes to the plate in conjunction with the launch of the 2013 Major League Baseball season.
