On April 1, Yumi Media, a food website devoted to delivering the latest and greatest in food news, recipes, and products to incorporate into your own healthy lifestyle, responds to an article posted by the LAist detailing how difficult it is to find vegetarian options in theme parks, and provides travelers with easy vegetarian recipes to pack while on vacation.
According to the LAist, it could be hard to find meatless options at many theme parks. One park in particular, Disneyland, has actually added a few more vegetarian-friendly options to its menu due to the popularity of plant-based diets, the article says.
“If you can’t find vegetarian-friendly options at the park, you can always pack a little lunch and bring it with you to make sure you can eat well while having fun,” says Justin Maas Yumi Media representative. “Most locations do not have a meat-free option which is a major turnoff for vegans and vegetarians.”
“Instead of going without, you can bring along some of your own meatless, soy-free Quorn products to the hotel,” says Maas. “Quorn has ready-made meals like chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, pasta and meatballs that are made with plant proteins. They taste just like real meat and have a similar consistency, making them great quick options for kids.”
Maas adds that all amusement parks should follow after Disney and provide a vegetarian option. “Though it makes sense to pack a lunch, there should always be an option for the vegetarian consumer.”
