More than nine people are killed and 1,060 more are injured every day in crashes that involve a distracted driver.

This April, Cellcontrol, the world’s leading technology to stop distracted driving, recognizes National Distracted Driving Awareness Month with community and industry education efforts. Today, cell phones account for nearly 25 percent of all auto accidents, spurring the adoption of Cellcontrol’s life-saving technology.

According to distraction.gov, more than nine people are killed and 1,060 more are injured every day in crashes that involve a distracted driver. Further, drivers who use mobile devices are four times more likely to get into injurious crashes, yet one third of drivers admit to texting and driving. To highlight the growing dangers of distracted driving, Cellcontrol published an infographic, which can be downloaded here.

Fortunately, families and fleet managers are increasingly adopting Cellcontrol’s technology to keep drivers safe. This patented non-pairing Bluetooth signaling technology integrates directly with a vehicle’s onboard electronics, and eliminates a driver’s ability to talk, text, email and browse on multiple devices while the vehicle is in motion.

In the first quarter of 2013, Cellcontrol secured partnerships with four of the world’s leading fleet management companies. In addition, families continue to purchase Cellcontrol for adult and teen drivers through ecommerce channels.

“This April, we’re proud to recognize National Distracted Driving Awareness Month through continued education efforts,” said Robert Guba, chief executive officer of Cellcontrol. “Our company will have a presence at community and industry events across America during this important month, and we encourage drivers to share our infographic on social media to multiply awareness.”
