Back9Network, Inc. and the Southern California Golf Association today announced they have entered into an agreement whereby 150,000 of the SCGA’s members will have increased access to select content from the Back9Network. The SCGA's digital platforms will include not only golf news, but also lifestyle features compiled by Back9Network's host of global editorial and video contributors.
Back9Network, a multi-platform golf and lifestyle media network, plans to eventually integrate content provided by the SCGA into its own broader more global audience.
In making the announcement, James Bosworth, CEO and Founder of Back9Network, said, ”This partnership is aimed at supplying SCGA golf enthusiasts with compelling and entertaining content relevant to their specific Southern California golf and lifestyle interests. Conversely, the Back9Network audience will gain an inside look at the latest golf centric news, trends, and stories emanating from this important golf region.
“Beginning Monday, April 1, on a bi-monthly basis, Back9 content will be showcased to a qualified and engaged audience through the SCGA’s digital communications. ” Bosworth added.
Kevin Heaney, executive director of the SCGA, said, “We are pleased to be the first regional golf association working with Back9Network. This partnership is a response to a growing recognition that golfer demographics are changing. The SCGA needs to provide content that will resonate with a broader audience using different messaging platforms. ” Heaney also noted that such a program provides the opportunity to introduce the Association to key under-served markets within its region, specifically golfers in their 20s and 30s.
Bosworth and Heaney also announced that future plans call for a joint initiative to co-create original videos for digital distribution.
“We will utilize Back9Network's production and talent team as well as the celebrity and industry relationships the SCGA has fostered being in the entertainment capital of the world. This will be an innovative collaboration and another significant enhancement to our growing list of member benefits,” Heaney said.
