The 95-Vehicle Pileup on the VA Interstate Acts as Reminder to Drive with Caution in Foggy Conditions

The 95-vehicle pileup that took place on Sunday afternoon near the Virginia-North Carolina border acts as a reminder to drive safely during foggy conditions. Attorney Charles Boyk urges Ohioans to follow the included driving safety tips.

Fog can greatly reduce visibility, making it especially troublesome when driving. This was proven just yesterday on a Interstaste 77 near the Virginia-North Carolina border. ABC News reported a 95-vehicle pileup that resulted in three fatalities and several injuries due to heavy fog on the roadway.

USA Today reported that there were three fatalities from the pileup, and twenty-five others were injured. The heavy fog over Interstate 77 is thought to be the root cause of 17 separate crashes within the 95-car pileup. The interstate was then closed for clean-up until early Monday morning.

Attorney Charles Boyk explained, "this multi-vehicle accident is a reminder to drive safely and with caution during foggy conditions. Toledo and the surrounding areas are located close to Lake Erie, making it more likely for us to experience fog. I urge drivers to be patient when driving and remember to be safe and aware of their surroundings so we don't have a similar pileup accident on our local highways."
