The combatants for the 2013 Final Four are set. The Louisville Cardinals, Michigan Wolverines, Syracuse Orange and Wichita State Shockers have outlasted the field to reach Atlanta. In honor of the 2013 Final Four, Printablebrackets.net has released a commemorative bracket featuring all four schools.

“As expected, March Madness has been completely unpredictable,” said Printable Brackets spokesman Zaniel Worth. “For those who watched college hoops all season long, the fact that only one top-seed reached the Final Four should come as no surprise.”

The only number-one seed to punch a ticket to Atlanta is Louisville, which beat North Carolina A&T, Colorado State and Oregon before dispatching of Duke in the Midwest final on Sunday. The tournament’s top overall seed also had to overcome a horrific injury suffered by guard Kevin Ware during the final. Ware gruesomely broke his leg in two places, was taken to a hospital and surgery was performed.

“Unfortunately one of the lasting images of March Madness 2013 will be Kevin Ware’s injury,” said Worth. “However, all reports indicate that Ware is in good spirits, he will recover and he hopes to be with the Cardinals in Atlanta as they go after the national championship.”

Louisville will continue its quest for the title against Wichita State, which proved to be this year’s Cinderella squad. The ninth-seeded Shockers beat top-seeded Gonzaga and Ohio State en route to their first Final Four appearance since 1965. The Cardinals and Shockers will clash in the first national semifinal on Saturday.

On the other side of the bracket, a pair of perennial powers will hook up as the Michigan Wolverines will meet the Syracuse Orange. Michigan used the momentum of its overtime win over Kansas to throttle Florida in the South final. After slamming top-seeded Indiana, Syracuse suffocated Marquette in the East final.

“Saturday’s second national semifinal presents a very intriguing matchup,” said Worth. “Michigan’s backcourt is the best in the country, but few teams, if any, have been more impressive in this year’s tournament than Syracuse.”
