Threat allegations against an LAPD police officer were dropped last week (Orange County, Case ##12HF2804) after his wife refrained from testifying against him in court. The officer was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence threats in October, 2012. "She declined to testify and the prosecution then announced that they were unable to proceed," said Jacqueline Goodman – the suspect’s criminal defense attorney. "After that,” she continued, “the judge granted my motion to dismiss." The charges involved a violent threat against the woman and the defendant’s possible access to firearms.

According to court documents, the alleged victim told a friend (another Los Angeles law enforcement officer) that her husband made a violent threat against her (Orange County, Case ##12HF2804). The woman’s friend reported the threat to the police department. The suspect was disarmed by law enforcement officers when he arrived at work in the morning and was accused of threatening his wife in their San Clemente, California home. (Orange County, Case ##12HF2804) The Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigated the incident. The suspect was 48 years old and faced up to three years in a state prison if the charges against him led to a criminal conviction, news sources indicate.
