Harlow, Essex (PRWEB UK) 2 April 2013
Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, recently supported the Annual National Uveitis Education Day in Inverness on 8th March 2013.
The event was attended by ophthalmologists, optometrists and nurses from all areas of Scotland. HS-UK provided BQ900 LED slit lamps for training purposes. The instruments aided the teaching at the slit lamp workshops that were run throughout the day, which taught examination techniques for assessing anterior segment patients with anterior uveitis.
The BQ900 LED slit lamp combines precision mechanics, world-class optics and LED illumination, which gives sharper, brighter and more homogenous illumination as well as avoiding the need for any bulb change. It is the slit lamp instrument of choice for Universities and teaching hospitals.
The slit lamps provided by HS-UK, were all fitted with the latest IM900 imaging module. The IM900 allows the slit lamp to produce high-resolution anterior segment photography or video. The history trigger on the IM900 captures the last few seconds in real time and allows the user to rewind and choose the optimum image.
The event was organised by the Scottish Uveitis National Managed Clinical Network. Dr Graeme Williams, Consultant Ophthalmic Physician for Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Trust and lead clinician for the national network said, “This event was a great success. We are very grateful for the support that Haag-Streit provided for this meeting, the BQ900 LED slit lamps were the perfect teaching aid for our workshops.”
