There are plenty of bargains to be had at this time of year as companies compete for business.

Plenty of hardwood flooring retailers are quick to suggest that winter is the best time to lay wood floors, as the air will be dry and the pieces of wood will remain at their minimum dimensions until the weather begins to warm up.
However, Essex-based retailer Green Apple Flooring has offered reasons why spring is in fact a great time to consider revamping a property by installing beautiful, brand new wooden floors.
1. Interior humidity levels are at their lowest in the spring or autumn. It’s recommended that homeowners install wood flooring when humidity is at its year-round average to reduce contraction and minimize gapping in the timber.
2. Moisture levels are fairly stable during the spring, too. Installing the floor when the moisture level is at its all-year average will ensure that the timber doesn’t cup during the heat of the summer or contract too much as the weather starts to get colder in the winter.
3. Spring temperatures are more consistent (traditionally!). Day and night-time temperatures do not usually fluctuate wildly during the spring, which means that the wood won’t undergo extreme changes when it’s introduced to its new environment. It’s recommended that timber is left to acclimatise to the conditions a room for at least 24 – 48 hours before installation to ensure it doesn’t react too adversely to its new home (though many retailers would recommend leaving the product to adapt to the room for a week or more to ensure the best long-term performance).
4. Many flooring companies run springtime sales. Retailers traditionally single out a proportion of their stock and offer certain products at rock-bottom prices for a limited period. In fact, recent statistics from the British Retail Consortium have found that many of the UK’s biggest chains began launching their spring sales at the beginning of March! There are plenty of bargains to be had at this time of year as companies compete for business, and both online flooring specialists and local warehouse stores will usually run great promotions that will definitely appeal to those revamping their home on a tight budget.
