Lakewood, NJ (PRWEB) April 03, 2013
Aquatherm Industries announced today it has received approval from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to conduct a Continuing Education Course on the topic of Solar Pool Heating as a NABCEP Continuing Education Provider. The course will also satisfy training requirements set forth NABCEP to become a Certified Solar Heating Installer.
The pilot session of this course will be held at the NABCEP Continuing Education Conference in Malta, NY which will be held April 12-14, 2013.
Within the three hour course, attendees will learn how to design, engineer, and install a solar pool heating system. The session will aim to provide a comprehensive education on solar thermal systems for swimming pool heating applications. After an introduction into the history and origins of pool heating, discussions on existing market opportunities will help attendees identify potential candidates for solar. Basic solar concepts will be reviewed, as they pertain to pool heating, before comparing the role played by various thermal technologies. Additional time will be spent on safety, standards, special mounting scenarios, and system troubleshooting.
The course will be administered by Dave Sizelove, President and Co-Founder of Aquatherm Industries. Mr. Sizelove is a 30-year veteran of the U.S. solar thermal industry, having began his career with Solar Industries, Inc. as a Design / Draftsman and then as Applications / Project Engineer before founding Aquatherm in 1989.
Dave’s background is in system design and hydraulics as well as manufacturing processes. He has been active in the Solar Thermal – now Heating and Cooling –Division of SEIA for many years and has served on the editorial advisory boards of several pool and solar industry trade publications. In 1997, Dave was honored by the California Solar Energy Industries Association for his contributions to the industry.
More information on the Solar Heating Continuing Education Conference can be found at their website: http://www.nabcep.org/solar-heating-ce-conference. After the conference, the course will continue to be registered with NABCEP as an approved training and continuing education course. A formal course schedule with dates and locations will be released shortly.
