The company believes all solid wood flooring retailers should keep a close eye on this month’s Dubai Woodshow, which takes place at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre next week.

Dubai is the place ‘where the global wood industry meets annually'

Running from 9th – 11th April, Dubai’s International Wood and Wood Machinery Show is set to be a crucial date on the calendar of many of the major players in the UAE’s timber industry.

According to the show’s website, Dubai is the place ‘where the global wood industry meets annually’. Over 500 exhibitors from over 40 countries will be pitching from 16,000 metres of floor space during the three-day event, while 10,000 visitors will flock to check out what’s on offer from these influential brands, ensuring the summit is undoubtedly the biggest wood exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa.

But what influence does such an exotic exhibition have on our local timber industry? Well, a rather demonstrable one, says Essex-based online flooring retailer Green Apple. Representatives from the company have previously commented on the importance of looking beyond British and European exhibition dates. The team believes that any manufacturer or retailer should actively monitoring international trade shows for inspiration and, above all, a valuable insight into the state of the world’s flooring economy as a whole.

“Hosting such a large-scale show in Dubai exposes an ever-increasing number of buyers, traders and investors to what’s happening in the wood industry in the UAE, the Middle East and beyond,” explains Stephen MacVicar, Green Apple’s Managing Director. “If the timber market is to continue to thrive, it needs to remain profitable, so it’s great that the exhibition gives some of the construction industry’s biggest decision makers a chance to nurture relationships with timber suppliers and grow their businesses further. After all, the UAE imported in excess of $708 million worth of timber and wood products in 2011 alone, so it’s clear that the sustained growth of the industry in this region can only have a positive impact on relations elsewhere in the world.”

Green Apple is also looking forward to reviewing the innovative products and solutions that will be showcased at the event. “Every exhibition brings something new to the table – all we need to do is work out a way of bringing up-to-the-minute trends and ideas to our customers!”

Green Apple Flooring supplies an extensive range of laminate, solid or hardwood, engineered wood and oak flooring to the UK. The company is proud to stock flooring and maintenance products from some of the best-known flooring brands in Europe, including Quickstep and Elka, at extremely competitive prices.
