The New England Association of Personnel Services (NEAPS) annual conference promises world class trainers, relevant recruiting tips and advice, and the chance to build long-lasting relationships.

Registration is now open for the conference, which will be held May 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Spa on Goat Island in Newport, R.I. Recruiters can register for the event at http://www.neaps.org/registration.php

This conference has become known as a “can’t-miss event” for many recruiters in the New England area and beyond. Between 130 and 150 recruiters are expected to attend, Committee Member Mark Carlson told contract staffing back-office provider Top Echelon Contracting, which is one of the many vendors exhibiting at the conference.

“The one thing we seek to do is bring in world class trainers,” Carlson said. “The other thing is that we don’t try to jam everything into one day. You don’t have to say ‘What sessions do I have to skip to attend the ones I really want to.’ We spread it over two days with repeat sessions. But the most important thing is the networking with other recruiters who actually care about the profession. Some of the best friends I have today I have met at these conferences.”

This year is especially exciting because renowned industry trainer Danny Cahill will present his famous Intensity Retreat. This is not a keynote speech or seminar. Rather, it is an interactive training session led by Cahill.

“This isn’t just a 50,000-foot overview,” Carlson said. “He will be taking questions from the audience before the session and then will deal with the questions on a case-by-case basis during the session.”

Based on requests from past attendees, the conference will also include a wider range of topics that go beyond basic, direct hire recruiting. Specifically, contract staffing will be a key area of focus with several sessions scheduled on the topic.

“If you think about the conference and the cost associated with it, it would cost you thousands to bring these trainers in your office,” Carlson said. “You can hear some of the best speakers in the industry and walk way with tangible advice you can use right away.”

The New England Association of Personnel Services (NEAPS) is a partnership of the following New England state and regional associations: The Connecticut Association of Personnel Services (CAPS), The Massachusetts Association of Personnel Services (MAPS), and The Northern New England Association of Personnel Services (NNEAPS).

Top Echelon Contracting, Inc., (TEC) is participating in this year’s conference due to the increased demand for contract staffing in today’s business environment. TEC makes it easy for recruiters to offer contract staffing to their clients and candidates. Established in 1992, TEC becomes the legal employer for the contractors recruiters place. As such, they handle the administrative, financial, and legal details of a contract placement, including legal contracts with the client and contractor, payroll processing and funding, state and federal tax withholdings, Workers’ Compensation, contractor benefits, invoicing, and collections.
