Paybefore has chosen Aetna ValuePassSM as a 2013 Paybefore Award winner in the Judges’ Choice category. The Aetna ValuePassSM is a prepaid dental card program developed in collaboration with Aetna, Store Financial Services, LLC, Convergence Health and UMB Bank.

Now in its seventh year, the Paybefore Awards are the most prestigious recognition of excellence in the worldwide prepaid and emerging payments industry. The awards are presented annually by Paybefore, whose publications are the leading source of industry information for alternative payments executives.

Aetna is partnering with Convergence Health, UMB Bank and Store Financial – industry experts in the fields of e-commerce development, banking and card processing. “We are very pleased that the Paybefore judges recognized Aetna’s ValuePass,” said Larry Bush, Store Financial Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Working with Aetna, Convergence Health and UMB Bank to bring an improved health care solution to the market has been a highly rewarding experience.” Card Compliant, which partners with Store Financial to provide comprehensive compliance security for prepaid access, is managing the regulatory and compliance matters for the Aetna ValuePass program.

Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel, commented, “Paybefore Awards were created to honor the companies and individuals that are at the forefront of innovation. Aetna ValuePass impressed judges because it’s a unique way to use prepaid to offer consumers access to discounted dental care without insurance.”

DeBonis adds, “This solution demonstrates the exciting evolution of electronic payments as companies like Aetna and its partners innovate to solve payments problems. We are proud to recognize their contributions to advancing the prepaid and emerging payments industry.”

Paybefore CEO Marilyn Bochicchio remarked, “The Paybefore Awards recognize the organizations that use financial services to make people’s lives better, which is why it is so exciting for us to honor those who champion innovation and excellence.”

Aetna ValuePass is a prepaid dental card that gives consumers access to affordable, quality dental care with no insurance plan or membership fee required. Aetna ValuePass empowers consumers to manage their dental care by allowing them to pre-pay for discounted services and receive care when needed.

Aetna ValuePass was selected by a panel of five industry experts who served as judges for this year’s competition, which—once again—included a record number of entries from around the world. Judges’ Choice is a special category created by the judges to recognize programs with the potential to make a dramatic impact on their cardholders, stakeholders and the industry overall.
