For the first time in Pennsylvania, the appearance of the Ameriheart® interactive educational exhibit is made possible by Susquehanna Health and Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

We are always grateful for the opportunity to partner with local agencies to provide free health and wellness activities, information and screenings that encourage and improve the overall good health of the people we serve throughout our community.

Susquehanna Health is reaching out to improve the health of the communities it serves by offering a Family Health Fest on Saturday, April 13 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Lycoming Mall, Pennsdale.

Individuals of all ages are invited to walk Lycoming Mall from The LifeCenter in the Bon-Ton/JCPenney wing to the mall’s center court to talk with health educators and pick up the latest wellness information, take advantage of free health screenings and participate in health-related activities and demonstrations offered by representatives from Susquehanna Health and local community agencies and organizations.

A major highlight of this year’s event is the AmeriHeart® exhibit. This is the first time this realistic, interactive walk-through exhibit has been offered in Pennsylvania. Designed to educate participants about the features and common diseases of the human heart, this AmeriHeart® appearance is made possible by Susquehanna Health and Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

In addition to the AmeriHeart® exhibit, children will enjoy face painting, coloring and craft activities. Adults can pre-register to participate in a Food Fit healthy cooking demonstration provided by Dani Sayah of Step by Step Walk Fitness. Several free screenings will be offered throughout the event including blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), hearing, Legs for Life® (a national screening for peripheral arterial disease), spinal and vision (for all ages). Free colorectal cancer screening kits for home use will also be made available at The LifeCenter.

“Susquehanna Health’s Family Health Fest is an event that we look forward to each year,” said Health Educator and LifeCenter Coordinator Robin Dawson. “We are always grateful for the opportunity to partner with local agencies and organizations to provide free health and wellness activities, information and screenings that encourage and improve the overall good health of the people we serve throughout our community.”

The Family Health Fest is free. Pre-registration is required for the cooking demonstration and Legs for Life® screening. To register, please call 1-877-883-4791. For more event details, visit SusquehannaHealth.org/Events.
