For parents looking to go beyond one page and get their kids thinking globally, children’s book publisher I See Me! just released the educational and adventurous My Very Own World Adventure storybook. My Very Own World Adventure is personalized with the child’s name throughout the story. The child travels around the world on a magic carpet, and his or her first and last name are spelled out letter-by-letter according to the countries that he or she visits. For example, if the child’s name is “Jack”, he might travel to J for Japan, A for Australia, C for Cambodia, and so on. The child’s full name is revealed as the pages are turned. Throughout the story, the child is welcomed by children from around the globe who give a special gift from their country, such as a Temari ball from Japan or a boomerang from Australia.

Sixty-three different illustrators from around the world have collaborated on this storybook, to create a very unique book that truly represents the world. According to I See Me! co-founders Maia and Allan Haag, "'My Very Own World Adventure' is the biggest project that our company has taken on to-date. Our designers spent over 5 years finding 63 illustrators from around the world to paint original paintings to be included in the storybook. 'My Very Own World Adventure' is truly an international book that not only teaches geography, but it also carries the message that your child is part of an international fabric of children.”

To enhance the global experience, My Very Own World Adventure also features a personalized passport with stamps from the countries that the child has visited, a personalized world map showing which countries the child has visited, and an encyclopedia featuring 63 different world countries. Written by award-winning author Maia Haag for boys and girls ages 3-12, this unique hardcover book which costs $34.95 is sure to become a keepsake. According to Erin Ganju, co-founder and CEO of Room to Read, “Over 60 million primary school-aged children around the world do not have access to education and most likely will never learn to read or write. I See Me! and Room to Read believe that all children, regardless of gender or background, have a right to education. By empowering children through this lifelong gift, we see a world in which people are able to realize their full potential.”

My Very Own World Adventure closes with a beautifully illustrated scene in which the child releases butterflies that carry his or her wish for world peace, and an illustrated encyclopedia with fun facts about the gifts that children have given from their countries.
