Jackson Hole, Wyoming (PRWEB) April 04, 2013
Proving Jackson Hole’s mettle as a cultural destination, the annual Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival, now in its 29th year, brings its trademark mix of visual, contemporary, culinary, Western, landscape, wildlife and Native American arts to Jackson, Wyo., September 5 – 15, 2013. Offering Wyoming visitors more than 50 family-friendly events, many of them free – and surrounded by the Teton Mountains in their autumn beauty – the festival revels in art and artists from around the world, with a chance to purchase original pieces from cowboy to cutting-edge contemporary.
The 2013 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival roundup of artsy fun includes the Palates & Palettes gallery walk on September 6; tours of historic Jackson Hole ranches September 7; and the crowd-pleasing Taste of the Tetons where participants stroll historic downtown Jackson’s sidewalks sampling gourmet cuisines from area chefs on September 8.
As the 10-day festival continues, the National Museum of Wildlife Art presents its 26th annual Western Visions® Wild West Artist Party and Miniatures and More Show & Sale on September 12 and 13, and artists create original works in a flash at the popular QuickDraw Art Sale and Auction in Jackson’s Town Square on September 14. Museum-quality contemporary Western style will be on display at the Western Design Conference, the unique exhibition of one-of-a-kind Western decorative arts and fashion sponsored by "Teton Home and Living" magazine, which runs from September 5 – 8 and includes an exhibit and sale, fashion show, lectures and more.
Cowboy artist and Idaho native Jason Rich, known for reflecting the authenticity of the cowboy way in his award-winning work, is featured artist for the 2013 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. Rich credits his Western roots as the inspiration behind his work, which draws on his firsthand “cowboying” experiences. Rich’s original large-scale oil painting “River Overlook – Gros Ventre River Ranch” will be on display at the Wort Hotel from Memorial Day weekend through Saturday, September 14. Posters featuring the painting will be on sale at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and Rich will do a poster signing event at Legacy Gallery on Wednesday, September 11.
