A rare opportunity to see some of the top U.S. motorcycle racing talent facing off in central California.
(PRWEB) April 07, 2013
Professional motorcycle flat track racing is the original extreme motorsport and it's back in the San Joaquin Valley in a big, big way.
There is bar-banging, no-holds racing on three consecutive rat-a-tat race weekends:
Saturday, April 27th: Chowchilla Speedway, Chowchilla, CA.
Saturday, May 4th: Stanislaus Fairgrounds, Turlock, CA
Friday, May 10th: Returning to Chowchilla Speedway, Chowchilla, CA
Chowchilla Speedway is a 1/3 mile banked clay dirt track that is the perfect venue for high speed daring action with riders racing side-by-side, mere inches apart. The Stanislaus Fairgrounds Arena offers up a challenging and technical "bull ring" track where motorcycle racing is a close-up contact sport!
"Last year we brought motorcycle dirt track racing back to the area and the response was amazing. In our second year, we've gained momentum and we've got a spectacular show planned. The Chowchilla Speedway facility is top notch and will bring a whole new level of motorsports entertainment to central California!" notes Randy Kremlacek, Slideways Presents! CEO.
Central California is the hotbed of many of America's most famous and talented riders, producing a who's who of motorcycle racing. Kenny Roberts, the man who Cycle News named the "Rider of the Century" was born and began his career here. Slideways will showcase the new stars in this series, attracting the likes of top GNC professional riders such as Mikey Rush, Jethro Halbert, Stevie Bonsey, Briar Bauman, Chad Cose and many more.
The last round of the series held at Chowchilla Speedway on May 10th is going to be a special night of racing. Held the night before the AMA Grand National Race in Stockton, California, and a mere 90 miles up the road, this event will draw all the major talent who will be doing their final tuning for the big race the next night. "This is a rare and special treat to see such a high level of world-class talent at the local level", explains Slideways Race Director, Mike Carli.
The series boasts a $5,000 purse and the prestige of being crowned the 2013 King of the Valley. To add to the drama, the first two events are CFTA California Championship rounds, where the best California riders will earn valuable points in pursuit of the title of 2013 California Motorcycle Flat Track Champion.
In addition to the hot pro action, there's lots of entertaining track activities:
Hooligan Race (you've got to see this craziness in person!)
Exhibition Mower Race
Racey Girls Models
While spine-tingling motorcycle racing is the main attraction, there's entertainment for the whole family:
Kid's Bounce House
SINTral Valley Derby Girls (Roller Derby Team)
Gates open at 5:30, racing starts at 6:30.
5 & Under: Free
Family Pack: $30 (family of four)
