Personal Energy is a little used term, but its effect lies at the heart of how successfully people live their lives, both at work and at home, and can even affect how long they live. Modern psychology has various tests for well-being, but the idea of energy - both mental and physical - is very rarely seen in a single test, and never before in the way that the Total Energy Test works.
The idea of 'Personal Energy' is really the combined effect of four different energy sources, all working in harmony. Physical energy - fitness and endurance, mental energy - curiosity and learning, emotional energy - relationships and inspiration, and spiritual energy - a sense of purpose and destination. These sources of energy are broadly recognized in current psychological thinking.
The Total Energy Test is a completely new test developed in Amsterdam to make access to this kind of information open to everyone. It is totally anonymous and free, and available on the internet at http://www.personalenergytest.com The test itself involves both a questionnaire as well as simple physical exercises with explanatory videos. The designers of this test claim that it can be easily completed in around 30 - 40 minutes. Rens ter Weijde, a sports psychologist and management coach is co-designer of the Total Energy Test: "This test is completely unique - it is simple, direct, and is completely confidential. Taking it and using the data properly, will help people be both happier and more successful".
The development team decided to make the Total Energy Test completely anonymous quite early in the process. Colin Mills, co-designer, explains: "It was clear to us that this test requires a lot of honesty on the part of the person taking it. The best way to guarantee this is to make it completely confidential - and the best way to do that is to make it anonymous."
Anyone taking the test can choose a pseudonym and there is no sign up necessary. At the end of the test, users get an on screen report, which they can save or print for their own records. This report is very detailed and breaks down all the test results in a simple and easily understood way.
The team believe that the Total Energy Test is a powerful tool which can be used by people to assess their own levels of mental and physical energy - who can then use this information to help increase their well-being and achievement in life.
