We are pleased with the resounding choice of TOSCA in the Swiss, Australian, and New Zealand markets demonstrated by our rapid gain in market share in independent reports. TOSCA is clearly an industry leading solution for test management and automation
Vienna, Austria (PRWEB) April 04, 2013
TRICENTIS, a global leader in automated software testing and quality assurance, today announces that its flagship product, TOSCA Testsuite, is the second most widely used commercial off-the-shelf testing suite in the Swiss market. This news follows the December announcement that TOSCA is also the second most widely used testing suite in the Australian/New Zealand markets. In both cases, TOSCA rose to the second most widely used testing solution for functional software testing, rapidly gaining market share. In Switzerland the use of TOSCA grew to 26.8% in one year in test automation and to 20% in test management.
The research comes from SwissQ Consulting AG, an independent consulting firm and publisher of the Swiss Testing Trends and Benchmark Report for 2013 working in conjunction with the St. Gallen University’s Institute of Technology Management. For the fifth year in a row, SwissQ has taken the pulse of the IT community and published a report that defines the current state of software testing in Switzerland while looking forward based on industry trends. Since last year, the testing, trends, and benchmarks in the SwissQ research have been complemented by the addition of two increasingly significant areas of inquiry–requirements engineering and Agile testing.
Wolfgang Platz, Founder and Managing Director of TRICENTIS, said at Swiss Testing Day, Zurich, “The new ‘shift to the left’ philosophy addresses the need for improved test automation as an integral part of every sprint in an Agile environment. TOSCA is ideal for rapid paced agile testers who enter their EPICs and User Stories in TOSCA, enrich them with ‘specification by example’ and automate the tests without any scripting. In a fast-paced agile environment TOSCA meets the challenges.”
The SwissQ independent report follows the Ross Report for Australia and New Zealand where TOSCA gained the same recognition in late 2012. The Ross Report 2012 – Software Testing Industry Benchmark was conducted among managers who are stakeholders in software quality assurance and testing. The study identified specific performance benchmarks and found “A significant benefit of test automation is the reduced cost to re-execute an automated test compared to a manual test.” TOSCA Testsuite was listed as the second most widely used test automation tool again, further demonstrating TOSCA’s continued growth.
Franz Fuchsberger, Managing Director of TRICENTIS, said, “We are pleased with the resounding choice of TOSCA in the Swiss, Australian, and New Zealand markets demonstrated by our rapid gain in market share in independent reports. TOSCA Testsuite is clearly an industry leading solution for B2B test management and test automation. Our value proposition is proven time after time: save customers 50% or more of their testing costs, increase test coverage to 95% - while speeding up time to market. These advantages provide the edge in agile development and quality assurance.”
According to Adrian Zwingli, Co-founder and CEO of SwissQ, “The Swiss market has a high concentration of insurance, technology, banking, other financial services that require the testing of complex business processes in blended testing environments. These verticals must comply with government regulations that mandate some of the highest quality testing in the world with full transparency while still meeting their cost, customer service, and time-to-market goals. If they have any hope of keeping up with the changes in the testing landscape, it lies in effective and efficient software testing.”
SwissQ Consulting AG is located in Zurich, Switzerland, from where it supports its clients in the development and implementation of IT-solutions and assures that the end users get the functionality they really need. Toward that end, they employ requirements engineering, testing, professional development, project collaboration, and research. This is achieved by unambiguously determining requirements and risk-based testing the implementation. Our vision is to improve the added value of IT through requirements management and software testing. Along with providing high-quality services, we pursue this vision by establishing independent platforms, like the Swiss Testing Day and the Swiss Requirements Day, which facilitate the exchange of know-how and experiences.
As part of its mission to use industry research to advance professional knowledge, SwissQ also put on the largest testing events and forums in Switzerland–Swiss Testing Day and Swiss Requirements Day. In addition, each year SwissQ offers companies the opportunity to present the trends and benchmarks from the annual report internally to their employees in order to increase awareness of industry trends and motivation to adopt best practices.
