Man City mid-fielder David Silva will host a 25th Anniversary Cocktail party as the Ambassador of the Anfi Group—a major vacation ownership company based in his home town, Arguineguin, in the south of Gran Canaria.
The twenty-six-year-old, who is gearing up for the semi-final showdown at Wembley against Chelsea, will welcome a group of Anfi UK members to the celebration at Etihad Stadium on the 9th April.
A European industry leader, Anfi Group has been providing luxury holiday accommodation for over two decades since being founded by Norwegian entrepreneur Bjorn Lyng. The Group’s five resorts have attracted over 33,000 member families from all around the globe.
A keen promoter of tourism to Gran Canaria, his island home, Silva is fronting a Europe-wide publicity campaign as the Anfi Ambassador throughout 2013. His image appears alongside photos of Anfi, in particular Anfi’s white sand beach, where he enjoyed playing football as a child.
The adverts are featured on buses, taxis, metro stations and in-flight magazines together with slogans encouraging people to visit Gran Canaria and Anfi such as: “This is my beach”, “Welcome to my home” and “See you soon at Anfi.”
Silva, who goes home frequently to Gran Canaria, said: “Any time I can, I escape to Gran Canaria and the sun to spend time with my family and at Anfi – which for me is a unique place in Europe. I’m proud to represent a company that is so important for my island and which continues to create employment for my community”.
Anfi Group CEO, José Luis Trujillo, is equally delighted to have Silva on the Anfi team, “We wish David the best of luck in his upcoming game against Chelsea and we are delighted to have this local hero as the Anfi Ambassador during our twenty-fifth anniversary celebrations – an occasion for retrospection as well as an opportunity to share our vision of Anfi’s development for the next coming twenty five years.”
