Bridging the gap between analog and IP surveillance system deployments

“The Hybrid xNVR allows us to provide our analog customers with a flexible solution that utilizes new IP surveillance technology, enhancing their security system,” said Ronald VanTassel, Market Development Manager for Seneca.

Seneca®, a leading custom computer and appliance manufacturer providing optimized, certified, and guaranteed solutions for the digital security and surveillance (DSS) market, today announced the availability of the first product in their lineup of unique and exclusive xVault Hybrid Network Video Recorders (NVRs). Hybrid xNVRs are purpose built appliances that support both IP and analog cameras, helping DSS integrators bridge the gap between these technologies.

“The Hybrid xNVR allows us to provide our analog customers with a flexible solution that utilizes new IP surveillance technology, enhancing their security system,” said Ronald VanTassel, Market Development Manager for Seneca. “Our engineering team worked closely with industry leading video management software (VMS) companies to ensure compatibility with the Hybrid xNVR server. Having a Hybrid server that has been optimized and validated with industry leading VMS platforms allow us to offer a very powerful addition to our xVault product line.”

Integrators and end users are hesitant to switch to IP DSS solutions because of the high transition cost of legacy analog investments. xVault Hybrid xNVRs save integrators time and money by eliminating the need for additional equipment such as a separate video encoder. In addition, the Hybrid xNVR can be deployed at remote sites which cut costly network connections.

The xVault Hybrid xNVR is custom designed as a small form factor solution including capabilities such as:

  •     Analog capabilities for up to 16 channels and 48 IP channels providing up to a max of 64 inputs
  •     Up to 16 local client viewing streams*
  •     Improved system performance specific to leading VMS platforms through custom OS settings
  •     Pre-configured hardware settings for simplified installations

Optimized Engineering to Support IP and Analog Performance

Seneca DSS engineers rigorously tested the Hybrid xNVR to ensure full support of IP and analog streams at full performance, capable of supporting up to 16 analog and 48 IP cameras. In addition to supporting both IP and analog, the xVault xNVR is able to simultaneously support video playback for monitoring. Notable features include:

  •     3rd generation Intel Core Processor Family
  •     Up to 8TB of storage
  •     GeForce 8400 Graphics

Seneca is now accepting pre-orders for the xVault Hybrid xNVR. For more information on the line of Hybrid xNVRs visit http://www.senecadata.com/products/digital-security/specialty-NVR/Hybrid-NVR.aspx or call (877) 814-0348. Visit Seneca at ISC West Booth #5043 to view a live product demonstration.
