Infocast, the leading producer of cutting-edge business intelligence conferences and networking events, is set to host the Alaska Oil & Gas Infrastructure & Development Summit in Anchorage, June 3 - 5, 2013.

According to an article posted earlier this year on truth-out.org, "Current TAPS oil shipments are down by nearly 75 percent from 1988's average of two million+ barrels per day. During this decline, six of Alyeska Pipeline Service Company’s ten pumping facilities have been shut down. Alyeska has been automating the remaining pumping units and converting them from jet to electrical power. That project was estimated to cost $250 million with completion set for 2005. However, costs have tripled and the project is still incomplete."

Tom Barrett, the President of Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, will speak at Infocast’s Alaska Oil & Gas Summit, where he will identify their current challenges and provide his suggested solutions for correcting its recurring problems. Many other companies will be joining Alyeska and presenting at the Infocast event. They include Alaska Gasline Development Corporation, U.S. Geological Survey, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Alaska OCS Region, National Ocean Industries Association, RBN Energy LLC, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) – Alaska, Alaska Trucking Association, Port MacKenzie, AK, Port of Anchorage, AK, City of Valdez, and Halliburton Energy Services, among many others.

The Alyeska Consortium issue, along with other problems, creates opportunities. Attend to take advantage by becoming better informed and better connected. Assess new markets and field developments, form key relationships with E&P players, providers, investors, and local communities, and brainstorm solutions to the current challenges the Alaska oil & gas industry faces.
